Has 2025 already hit for you? By the time you’re reading this, probably, so… Happy New Year! (Or soon)
Let’s jump into the recap of what I’ve been up to this year.
2024 recap
In January, I gave a talk at Visual;Conference The Art of Asset Reduction: Make More With Less.
In June, I co-hosted Battle Action Fantasy VN Jam for a second year. Please be making chuunige!
In August, we released an updated version of The Final Prize is Soup, containing an additional 15k words for the King’s route in the form of a short story extra. The game was published on Steam with the help of the folks at Quill Yuri.
If you enjoyed soup, then I’d love to hear your thoughts and see your reviews ( ˙꒳˙ )
In October, I was one of the judges for the annual Spooktober Visual Novel Jam. It was definitely an experience being on the other side, having as a result not made a game for the jam. Keep up the good work, folks!
In November, we released Void Hyperion, a sci-fi omegaverse yuri visual novel for Yuri Jam! It’s my first omegaverse visual novel and also my first finished Yuri Jam visual novel entry?
I can’t say I write all that much science fiction, but funnily enough I had finished writing another sci-fi visual novel script earlier in the year… (That one’s not released yet)
And some miscellaneous activities that are a little hard to put a date on:
I’ve been working on Studio Elan’s Lock and Key! (see their year wrap post: https://www.patreon.com/posts/119051060?pr=true)
I’ve transitioned off of Twitter over to Bluesky as my main social media platfom: https://bsky.app/profile/4nokivn.bsky.social
upcoming & goals
As for what’s coming up this year…
I’ll be speaking at Visual;Conference again in January with the talk Visual Novel Project Management: Dev More, Manage Less
I will discuss a variety of tips on team, asset, and creative management, ranging from GitHub to spreadsheets to team hubs, from a perspective of a director and scenario writer.
This talk will help you explore the question: How can I organize my project when developing a visual novel with a team?
And there’s lots I’d like to try doing in 2025. Jumping on the bandwagon, I filled out one of those bingo sheets:
Admittedly I started running out of goals half-way through, but it would be amazing if I manage to do everything on the list in 2025.
Who knows? Maybe bingo is more compelling than a New Year’s resolution.

Happy New Year!
